Blog Post Example - My Technology Experience

Technology has been a part of my life since before I can remember. According to my parents, when I was only a wee lad of 2, I knew how to turn on the Apple IIe and play my games. I think we've all come along way since those days.  Today I can comfortably work on a Mac or a PC although for many reasons I prefer PC's.  I know there are several designers and educators out there who would equate this to blasphemy, but I stand by my opinions.  I will recognize the fact that Mac has much better software for certain types of design and for video creation and editing.

My experience with technology, especially computers, goes far beyond simple everyday use.  While I would not consider myself a programmer, I do have some limited experience in this area.  Basic HTML and Actionscript 3 (the language used in Flash) is what I spend most of my time programming.  I would like to learn Java and Javascript in the near future.  The language used by Adobe After Effects is very similar to Javascript so learning Javascript would be doubly beneficial.  When I have some time, I might try learning Javascript using w3schools.com.  For those of you unfamiliar with this website, it offers very well designed tutorials for multiple languages free of charge!

Beyond computers, I am very interested in film, especially video editing.  I have quite a bit of experience working with editing software, including iMovie and Sony Vegas Pro.  I hope to learn Final Cut Pro in the near future.  I'm very confident that I can as I have mastered numerous editing applications already.  I would also like to improve my skills in After Effects. I've made several videos and I try and put my shorter videos on YouTube for others to see. I chose to install the video gadget in my blog's sidebar so that others could easily see some of the videos I've made.
